Next training: Thursday, April 3rd, 12:00 – 2:30 PM

The Office of Risk Services has partnered with OHSU’s Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Services to provide mental health support training to UCSC supervisors and managers.

Developed by a NIOSH Total Worker Health Center of Excellence, this evidence based program teaches leaders:

  • To identify employee mental health struggles
  • Appropriate ways to respond to employee warning signs
  • Practical strategies to reduce employee stress

Employees whose managers and supervisors were trained in this program report:

  • Reduced anger and loneliness
  • Improved feelings of support from manager
  • Increased feelings of team cohesion

This training is now open to all supervisors and managers at UCSC. Our next training session will take place on Thursday, April 3rd and will comprise the following:

  • A self paced online training session that will take approximately an hour to complete (to be completed that week or the hour and a half prior to our virtual session)
  • A live, virtual one hour session to discuss the online portion and share examples in the workplace
  • A two-week voluntary virtual check in to check in on behavior tracking progress

If you would like to participate in this training on Thursday, April 3rd, 12:00 – 2:30 PM, please fill out this form. The optional two-week check in will take place on Thursday, April 17th, 12:00 – 12:30 PM.  Please note that space is limited. Folks added to the waitlist will be given priority for our next training session.
